Three new apartments have been proposed, including a 19-story building. The "Estrella" would be the tallest of the buildings and would hold 180 apartments.

In addition, the Estrella would have an 11,000-square-foot market, multiple levels of parking, a dog park and a rooftop restaurant.

Columbus real estate developer Bluestone Brothers wants to build a 19-story tower on Rich Street downtown.

The mixed-use building would feature structured parking, a floor of office space, 180 apartments and ground-floor retail – ideally a grocery store. There are also plans for a rooftop restaurant.

Stanley Lan, CEO of Bluestone Brothers, called Rich Street the "next frontier of downtown," given its proximity to the restaurants and bars on both the 4th and Main corridors.

Local developer Bluestone Brothers is bringing a proposal for a 19-story building to the Downtown Commission this month.

The development, called The Estrella in the application materials, would have 180 apartments and a 250-space parking garage. The first floor of the building would hold about 10,000 square feet of commercial space, while the sixth floor would hold office space, resident amenities, and a large outdoor space featuring an infinity pool. The building would be topped with an 8,000-square foot rooftop restaurant.

First Look: The Woodbury

The wait is over for The Woodbury. The Downtown urban diner opened its doors at 215 E. Town St. in mid-December. The 4,750 square foot eatery occupies the ground floor of the 223 E. Town St. project, with developer Bluestone Brothers serving as owner, and Olde Towne Partners the concept developers and operators.

“We wanted to be somewhere where you could get breakfast all day and be a social place at night,” says Brad Hobbs, managing partner of OTP who are also known for their other Central Ohio eateries, including The Olde Towne Tavern, Corner Stone Craft Beer & Wine, The Walrus, Pecan Penny’s and Duck Donuts.

The Woodbury’s menu features diner classics with a twist – and a dose of Asian influence. The entire menu, from French Toast Casserole to Kimchi Meatloaf, is available from 10 a.m. until the kitchen closes at 1 a.m.

A new restaurant and bar concept is coming to a new building Downtown sometime in Spring 2018. The Woodbury, operated by Olde Towne Partners, occupies the ground floor of the new 223 E. Town Street development by Bluestone Brothers and aims to be an “urban diner with a vibrant bar scene.”

“The Woodbury is a fresh concept for not only Columbus, but the entire region,” said Brad Hobbs, Managing Member at Olde Towne Partners, the group that operates Olde Towne Tavern, The Corner Stone Craft Beer & Wine,Walrus Kitchen & Public House, and Pecan Penny’s. “Centrally located in the middle of Downtown, we envision The Woodbury as a place for anyone and everyone to enjoy.”

Two New Apartment Buildings Now Open Downtown

Two new apartment buildings have opened Downtown, bringing another 173 units onto the market.

An official grand opening is planned for next month at 223 East Town, a five-story, 84-unit building that sits next to the Holiday Inn. A handful of leases have already been signed, according to Ted Orr, Director of Development Experience at Crawford Hoying, who is developing the project along with Bluestone Brothers.

Bluestone Brothers and Crawford Hoying presented plans for a new five-story mixed-use apartment building at the corner of East Town Street and South Fifth Street, located just two blocks east of Columbus Commons.

A downtown real estate agent states that he expects the project next to Franklin University at 223 E. Town St. and 185 S. Fifth St. will, in fact, get built as rental units. Developer Bluestone Brothers US Inc.'s application to the city's Downtown Commission did not specify whether they envisioned apartments or condos.
